Featured Product Spotlight: Crestron Home OS 3
A Sleeker, Simpler Way to Harness the Power of Crestron Automation
For a long time, Crestron has been the choice for sophisticated home automation in the largest and most complex properties. As a pioneer in both residential and commercial automation, Crestron has built a powerful and advanced software platform that allows you to automate things in the home that other systems couldn't. It accomplished that with ultimate customizability.
But technology moves forward, and other competitors caught up with many of Crestron’s innovations, creating sophisticated systems that didn't require as much programming to achieve the same goals – even if they weren't quite as customizable. In the past few years, Crestron has embarked on an effort to make their systems far easier to configure and offers users a simpler, sleeker, more intuitive automation experience, while still retaining the customizability and flexibility that are hallmarks of the system.
Georgia Home Theater is a long-time Crestron integrator, and we are excited about the new Crestron Home system powered by their latest OS 3 software. OS 3 lets us configure a sophisticated Crestron automation system in your Dunwoody home faster than ever before, and at lower cost as the configuration is much more simplified. We’re so excited about it that we are setting up a new Crestron Experience in our Marietta showroom, where you can see it in action.

A Single, Integrated Solution
Some companies like to control all aspects of their solution, much like Apple. They design their products to cohesively and offer a complete solution that doesn't compromise on features. That's the Crestron approach—they offer their own solutions for lighting, shading, audio, video, and climate control. When they don't build a solution - like pool controls - they make sophisticated interfaces to seamlessly blend into the Crestron automation system.
The result of this is a no-compromises, high-performance solution. Crestron controls the interface, the protocols, and the underlying software platform that offers all the control and automation you’ve come to expect from the company over decades. Everything is compatible and built for reliability, and all of the components are rigorously tested to work together.
A Simpler, More Intuitive Experience
While Crestron systems have always been powerful, sometimes some of that power and customization required extensive programming by professionals. The new system can be configured by Georgia Home Theater professionals with an iPad, making it much easier to get your system up and running.
For the customer, the interface is even more customizable. It clearly presents your room control options and shows you the status of everything at a glance. Is your security system armed? Check. Is the garage door closed? Check. Is the TV still on? Check. When you walk out the door, a custom scene can ensure that everything is the way you want it - doors locked, alarm on, AV off, motorized shades down, and the thermostat set to an eco-friendly setting.
Customization and Control
As always, the power of Crestron is there waiting to be tapped. Want to control multiple homes or properties? Crestron Home lets you do that, so you can keep an eye on your vacation home, manage its environment, and remotely control just about everything you can control when you’re there. Want to make or modify your own scenes? It's now easy to do, with no programming experience required. Need to create different profiles for users, like your kids and guests? It's all under your control. And while the new interface takes full advantage of your current smartphone and tablet, it’s also available on Crestron-dedicated touchscreens and the more traditional TSR remotes as well.
