Very few companies have the prestige and history of McIntosh audio, which is celebrating its 70th year in business in 2019. Every product release from the company is a significant event in the music enthusiast community, and its brand-new integrated turntable is no exception.

The new Mcintosh MTI100 includes McIntosh’s prestigious engineering, a vacuum tube amplifier, a phono-preamplifier, amplifier, Bluetooth receiver and turntable all in a one-of-a-kind solution. It’s the ideal product to begin building a high-end McIntosh audio system in your home in the Roswell or Metro Atlanta area, even if you have limited space in your chosen listening room.

The Turntable

The turntable uses a 7-pound aluminum platter matched with a machined aluminum tonearm, both sitting on a thick piece of glass. The turntable gets added stability through a thick metal plate underneath the glass. A permanent magnet AC synchronous motor powers the 33 1/3 and 45 rpm belt driver which allows for manual speed changes.

The platter runs in synch with the AC power line frequency, resulting in more precise playback quality. When it comes to the cartridge, the MTI-100 employs a Sumiko Olympia Moving Magnet cartridge with an upgraded stylus that offers improved frequency response and more dynamic sound.

Electronics

Beneath the turntable architecture is a Class D amplifier that provides up to 80 watts per channel at 4 Ohms impedance or 50 watts per speakers at 8 Ohms. Housed alongside it are a vacuum tube preamplifier and a phono preamplifier within its own custom box to keep noise from contaminating your vinyl record.

Sources

Stream your favorite music through the MTI100’s built-in High-Definition Bluetooth 4.2 input that lets you connect any Bluetooth device. The receiver includes a dedicated Bluetooth antenna to provide a reliable signal quality. It also includes analog and digital audio inputs to add your CD player, media server, or even a television.

Outputs

Though the receiver is primarily designed for 2-channel use, with two dedicated speaker outputs in the back of the amplifier, there is also a subwoofer output included. For a more intimate listening experience, there is also a dedicated headphone amplifier and jack. With increased gain and power features, it is compatible with all headphone types.

With the MTI100, it’s easy to build a high-end McIntosh audio system anywhere in your Roswell or Metro Atlanta house. All you have to do is add a couple of loudspeakers and your favorite source components to enjoy all your favorite music without sacrificing quality or needing a whole lot of space. It's also a simple starting point for those just getting into the world of high-end audio or looking for a better way to enjoy their vinyl recordings.
