The Levitating, Motorized Zero-G Screen from Screen Innovations

Step Up to the Latest Media Room Design Innovation

We hear it all the time. Our customers want the latest and greatest in sight and sound for their media rooms - whether it’s a home theater, a master bedroom, a game room - they want it. But they don’t always want to see it when it’s not in use.

After all, bedrooms are for relaxing and sleeping. Living and family rooms are for gathering and conversation. Game rooms are for… games. We get it. Screens have invaded our work, our cars, our pockets and purses, and every part of our lives. We understand that you don’t always want screens to demand your attention, especially when they’re turned off.

If your media room pulls double duty in your Alpharetta home – as many do – you may get just as excited as we are about the latest screen design from Screen Innovations. We love technology at Georgia Home Theater, and we love hiding it as much as some of you do, as we do with architectural surround sound speakers in many installations.

Read on to learn more about the Screen Innovations Zero-G - the floating screen that you see only when you need it

The Levitating Screen

Foldable TV screens are coming. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this past January, LG introduced an OLED TV that rolls up into its case. If you like that idea, feel free to wait for it but the Screen Innovations Zero-G is available right now! It disappears much better than the LG TV. A Zero-G can be neatly recessed into your ceiling, and at the touch of a button, drop down for your video viewing pleasure.

By now you are probably thinking, “what’s so incredible about a motorized fold up projector screen?” The Zero-G is suspended by nearly invisible aircraft-grade wire, so your screen floats like a levitating picture. Screen Innovations can even color-match the cables to the surroundings for even greater stealth. If you love your room’s views, you don’t have to give them up to watch Monday Night Football in all its 160-inch glory.

Simply drop down the screen for the game and roll it up once you’re done. No dedicated wall space is required, and there’s no dark screen to mar your carefully crafted interior design. You won’t need to rearrange your room’s design for media. The screen is just another part of your incredible view, and only visible when called upon.

A Screen for All Seasons

Screen Innovations has pioneered reflection absorption and ambient light rejection in their screen materials and designs. With the Zero-G, you can take advantage of that expertise. No need to darken the room for watching the game or finishing the latest season of a bingeworthy show on Netflix. Enjoy your daytime or nighttime view and your video too. And with 16:9, 16:10 and 2:35 aspect ratios offered, it can accommodate your favorite content natively.

What About Sound?

We’re discussing a screen here, but we’re glad you asked that question. After all, if the screen floats in the room, can we get the sound to be natural? And what’s a fantastic screen like this without sound to match? There are many options, but in-ceiling speakers from one of our many hi-fi brands, such as Bowers and Wilkins or Monitor Audio, would make excellent choices. The latest crop of AV surround processors can be tuned to make ceiling speakers sound like they’re behind the screen, just like in movie theaters. So go ahead, tell us where you want your floating screen. We’ll make the sound work no matter what.
